What Can You Expect For Your First Appointment?

Your first visit is about getting to know you, your condition, and your goals. One of our licensed physical therapists will start with a thorough evaluation in one of our private treatment rooms, and you'll discuss your current condition, medical and surgical history, daily activities, and what you’re hoping to get back to doing. Based on this evaluation, your physical therapist will develop a customized treatment plan tailored specifically to your needs. Treatment typically begins during this first visit and may include manual therapy, targeted exercises, and education to help you understand your condition and recovery process. You'll have a few pages of paperwork at check-in, and you can expect this first appointment to last between 1–1.5 hours.

What Do You Need To Bring To Your First Appointment?

Please bring your form of ID, any applicable insurance cards, a list of any current medications, and your referral. Please also bring a change of clothing if you are coming from work and have on something formal and/or restrictive, if possible.

What Type of Clothing Should You Wear?

We recommend wearing comfortable clothing that allows you to move freely during your session. Athletic or workout-style clothing such as shorts, leggings, sweatpants, and t-shirts or tank tops work best, as they allow your physical therapist to properly assess movement and treat the affected area.

We do not recommend wearing skirts or dresses, as they can hinder mobility and modesty, and make treatment more difficult. For footwear, sneakers or athletic shoes are ideal, if possible for you.

Do You Need A Referral From An MD/DO?

In order for us to file with your insurance, you do need a referral from an MD or DO. In order to avoid any lapse in care or longer scheduling times, it is suggested to have your referral at the time of scheduling your appointment.

We currently do not offer Direct Access.

How Many Sessions Will You Need?
